A BETTER CELLULITE PROGRAMME

There has been considerable advertising and marketing hype for a certain Italian cellulite-reducing programme lately, and as a result there is a big demand for this product that promises women the hope of being able to lose inches of stored cellulite in as little as 60 days. Women are spending as much as $420.00 for a 60-day programme. (6 boxes of 40 capsules: 4 capsules daily).

According to the list of ingredients on the box of this product it contains the following ingredients: (active ingredients are in bold).

• Borage Oil: (A good source of gamma linolenic acid {GLA}).
• Fucus Vesiculosis: (The Latin name for bladderwrack, a seaweed high in organic iodine).
• Grape Seed Extract: (A potent antioxidant).
• Ginko Biloba: (A herb which helps to improve circulation. The label doesn't indicate if it is a standardized extract, so it is probably just ginko leaf powder).
• Gelatine: (refers to the capsule material which is made primarily from gelatine).
• Fish Oil: (depending on the type of fish oil, a rich source of EPA and DHA, the active omega 3 fatty acid. However, there is not enough fish oil in the capsule, {it is the 5th listed ingredient} to provide any significant benefit).
• Glycerol: (a form of glycerine, and part of the capsule material).
• Fatty acids: (the last listed ingredient, and probably a capsule filler).
• Colour; (not listed as a natural colour, so most likely to be an artificial colour to give the capsule its reddish-brown colour).
• Fill weight of the capsule is approx. 500 mg (No. 10 oval).

Based on the proceeding information, a more effective and long lasting programme can be recommended as follows:

• BLADDERWRACK: (Naturally Nova Scotia) 500mg - a rich source of iodine, helps stimulate thyroid activity. (DOSE: 2 capsules daily).
• SONA Optimum ratio vitamin, chelated mineral and enzyme formula: (Enerex) Provides all the essential nutrients and antioxidants necessary for maintaining long term good health. (DOSE: 3 tablets daily, one with each meal.).
• OMEGA 3-6 essential fatty acid formula: (Enerex) Contains 750 mg of a combination of borage, evening primrose and salmon oils to provid a balanced ratio of omega 6 and omega 3 essential fatty acids. (DOSE: 3 capsules daily, one with each meal.).
• GINGKO BILOBA formula: (Enerex) Providing 62.5 mg of standardized ginko biloba plus 400 mg of freeze dried ginko leaf powder. (DOSE: 1 capsule daily).
